Therapeutic Modalities

I draw from a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities, tailored to your unique needs. My work blends various approaches and techniques with psychoeducation, to meet you where you are and support lasting change.

My work integrates:

EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-specific therapy designed to assist your brain in reprocessing overwhelming experiences that continue to affect you in the present. Through guided bilateral stimulation, we incorporate mindfulness and nervous system regulation to help your nervous system process these memories, making them feel less triggering or overwhelming.

Somatic-Based Therapy

Somatic-based therapy emphasizes the vital connection between your mind and body, acknowledging that stress and trauma are often stored physically as well as emotionally. By incorporating mindfulness and nervous system regulation, we gently increase awareness of body sensations. This approach, alongside trauma specific therapy approaches like EMDR therapy, helps your nervous system release tension while providing essential psychoeducation to build a greater sense of safety and regulation.

Mindfulness and Nervous System Regulation

Mindfulness and nervous system regulation are crucial components of trauma-specific therapy, helping you become aware of what’s happening in your body and mind in the present moment, especially during stress or emotional overwhelm. By integrating practices from psychoeducation and learning practical regulation skills,  you can shift out of survival mode and feel more grounded, balanced, and in control.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is an important part of the therapeutic process. Together, we'll explore how experiences shape your brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships. By understanding why your mind and body respond the way they do, many of your reactions begin to make sense. You can begin to recognize your response as adaptive survival strategies that were developed at some point in time, for a reason. This understand can reduce shame, increase self-compassion and create a foundation for meaningful and lasting changes.

Trauma Specific Therapy

Trauma-specific therapy, including approaches like EMDR therapy, directly addresses the impact of past traumatic experiences through evidence-based methods aimed at supporting healing, mindfulness and nervous system regulation. As a trauma-informed therapist, I prioritize safety, collaboration, and a respectful pace that works for you. This ensures that our work feels steady and empowering rather than overwhelming, and I also incorporate psychoeducation and somatic-based therapy to enhance your healing journey.

Attachment Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy explores how your earliest relationships and life experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, connect with others, and navigate the world around you. Together, we'll identify patterns that may have once helped you feel safe but no longer serve you. Through a secure therapeutic relationship, you'll have the opportunity to develop new experiences of trust, connection, and emotional safety, creating space for healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Circle of Security Parenting Program

Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) is an attachment-based parenting approach that helps caregivers better understand their child's emotional needs and strengthen their relationship. Together, we'll explore your child's behaviours through the lens of connection rather than compliance, helping you recognize what they may be communicating beneath the surface. You'll gain practical tools to respond with confidence while fostering emotional security, resilience, and a stronger parent-child bond.

Rather than focusing on 'fixing' symptoms, I help clients understand how their nervous system adapted to past experiences through psychoeducation and support healing with approaches like EMDR therapy, mindfulness, regulation tools, and somatic-based therapy in a way that feels collaborative and sustainable.
